Jahnna Beechamis the co-writer of the musicals Chaps! and Chaps! A Jingle Jangle Christmas, Dogpark the Musical (all published by Samuel French) and They Came From Way Out There and Holmes and Watson Save The Empire.Under the pen name Jahnna N. Malcolm she has co-written with Malcolm Hillgartner more than 130 books for young adults and children including The Jewel Kingdom, Bad News Balletand Love Letters. Jahnna directed the film of their book, The Ruby Princess Runs Away, which was reviewed by Timemagazine and won Best Picture at the 2001 Burbank Int’l Children’s Film Festival. Their parenting columns for Sesame Street Parents magazine were compiled into a book titled I’m Counting to 10, and was a Parents Choice Award winner in 2002. They’ve also written PC games for Trilobyte/Virgin Games, and Parents Choice and Teachers Choice Award-winning learning programs for Hooked on Phonics. Jahnna continues to direct professionally in theatres across the US including the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, San Jose Stage Company, Artists Repertory Theatre in Portland, Oregon, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre and Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.
