John Anastasi began writing at age twelve with two short films Picture Kim Dead and The Champagne Top. After a thirty-year hiatus he has completed two feature full length screenplays, Choice of a Lifetime and Absence of Faith, both which have achieved the semifinals in major screenwriting competitions. His works written for the stage include In My Father's Eyes, a play with music, produced at the Forum Theater (New Jersey) and the historic Mishler Theater (Altoona, PA). It was selected as an alternate at the New York Fringe Festival summer 2003. Stolen Lives, a two character drama, presented Off Broadway at the Acorn Theater at Theatre Row after being presented at the Mishler Theater. His play Pied-a-Terre, was originally presented in showcase at the Beckett Theater on Theatre Row and a full production at Penn State University. Pied-a-Terre enjoyed a successful Off Broadway premiere at the Kirk Theater at Theatre Row in 2007. Since being published by Samuel French in 2008, Pied-a-Terre has been produced at the Cork Theatre in Ireland and has been fully translated to Chinese and produced at the Shanghai Grand Theatre in China in December 2009. The play is currently touring in Ireland and being translated to Italian for a future production in Rome. He is completing a first draft of Choice of A Lifetime, and The Controller is currently in development. Dr. Anastasi is an active member of the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc.
