Meredith Dayna Levy
Meredith Dayna Levy is currently based in Roanoke, Virginia. She writes plays to give platform to quiet, quirky, and queer voices, as well as make space for dynamic, challenging women on stage. Her full length historical drama DECISION HEIGHT has garnered regional and national attention through receiving several awards through the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival, including the Harold and Mimi Steinberg National Student Playwriting Award. DECISION HEIGHT has been published by Samuel French Inc., and is enjoying productions in theaters across the country. Meredith is a founding member of dwellings dancetheatre, the collaborative artistic partnership between herself and dance maker Patricia Brooks Cope; their mission is to create opportunities for other emerging artists to explore, connect, and make performance works. With the support of Roanoke Ballet Theatre, they produce THE TINKER, a monthly works-in-progress performance series, which supports an artist's "tinkering" process by making space for the work to be experienced by an audience. Meredith is a MFA candidate with the Hollins Playwright's Lab, and a proud Dramatist Guild member since 2012.
