Thom Bennett

Thom Bennett divided his time between careers in the theatre and in education, until a few years ago. As a teacher, he held a Ph.D. in Educational Systems Development, authored numerous journal articles, and served on the Ontario Ministry of Education's Advisory Committee on the Arts. He taught all grades from kindergarten to grade 13 inclusive, as well as Dramatic and Theatre Arts at the college and university levels. Extensively involved in theatre as an actor, director and playwright, Mr. Bennett was the Artistic Director of Rainbow Theatre (Ontario), for 17 years, and the Port Carling Dinner Theatre for 6 years. As a playwright, he has written four published plays, including his most performed work Dark Rituals, which has been performed in almost half of the States in the U.S. He has co-authored a full-scale adaptation of the romantic swashbuckler "The Prisoner of Zenda", and has just completed a new thriller entitled "RavensCliffe, Island of Games",  which is set in a lighthouse during the summer of 1959. Complete with several surprise twists, "RavensCliffe, Island of Games" promises to keep audiences guessing until the last scene whether they are watching a ghost story or a devilishly constructed murder mystery! Anyone wishing to contact Thom may do so at thombennett33@hotmail.com. Other plays by Mr. Bennett include the thriller "Club Dead", a modern morality play set on a mysterious Caribbean island, and "Return to Wonderland", a delightful family fantasy with plenty of audience participation. Mr. Bennett is a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada and a recipient of the Canada 125 award.
