Lisa Rafferty

Lisa Rafferty is a director, playwright and producer known in the Boston area for helming plays and musicals at various theater companies and for producing the Elliot Norton Awards. She co-created 'FINISH LINE: A documentary play about the 2013 Boston Marathon' with Joey Frangieh - world premiere at the Shubert Theatre in Boston in March 2017. Her comedies about motherhood – 'The MOMologues 1, 2 and 3' - were written as therapy with Stefanie Cloutier and Sheila Eppolito, beginning with the early days of becoming a parent and continuing through to the empty nest. They have appeared around the U.S. and the world. Finding the funny also motivated her to write a comedy about breast cancer with two other survivors: 'Pink Ribbon Overdose.' Her essays have appeared in 'The Boston Globe' and 'The New York Times.' Three of her latest documentary plays are about empowering and supporting women: 'SHE DID ALL THAT - Betty Ford: Speaking Out, Saving Lives,' 'FEEDING SISTERS: The Voices of Women's Lunch Place' and 'NO MORE SECRETS: Healing from Domestic Violence.' She is honored to be telling the story of a 9/11 hero in 'THE LEGACY OF WELLES REMY CROWTHER: The Man in the Red Bandanna.' Lisa teaches theater at Bridgewater State University and is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
