I was excited to get this play as I desire to teach non-musical theatre and this is a story that my audience (K5-senior citizens) could enjoy together. However, I was disappointed with the script. The product review says it is full length, but I was able to read through the entire script in about 25 minutes--I am a fast reader, but a full length play should take closer to 40 minutes for me to read the lines and directions.

Also, I felt the story itself was cheapened. I liken it to expecting to read a quality literary classic for a high school/college student and instead I read "See Jane Run". This play just doesn't meet the level I was looking for, however, it would be a great project for elementary/middle school students.

Overall, disappointing. I'm still on the lookout for The Wizard of Oz (and already found a few possibilities here on Samuel French), but this one is just not it.
