Mrs. Chase is fussing over her little lap dog and ordering extra cushions and bowls of warm milk for it. A party of business people come through the lobby but one, Mr. Leeman, is not feeling well so has an early night after requesting breakfast in bed. The next morning the lap dog is enjoying sausages for breakfast, laced with frequent bites at people's fingers. Basil, delivering breakfast to Mr. Leeman, is incensed that the latter doesn't speak to him but later the cause is found - Mr. Leeman is dead! Basil thinks it is the fault of some out-of-date kippers and attempts to hide the evidence. There is nowhere to put the body until it can be collected apart from the laundry basket. Meanwhile Mrs. Chase's dog is choking on stolen sausages. The body is moved around and finally Basil escapes Sybil's wrath concealed in the laundry basket. As found in FAWLTY TOWERS.
