What appears at first to be the final confrontation between master detective Sherlock Holmes and his perennial arch-enemy, Professor Moriarty, proves to be more than even Holmes bargained for: he finds himself facing an old-but-new enemy whose determination to outwit and destroy the great detective is even greater than before. The ensuing intellectual cat-and-mouse games between these two larger-than-life figures form the exciting centrepiece of this original musical based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's characters. The production was first produced at the Bristol Old Vic in 1993, starring Robert Powell as Sherlock Holmes and Roy Barraclough as Dr Watson, before embarking on a national tour. The Revenge of Sherlock Holmes is set after Sherlock and Moriarty fall off the Rechinback Falls. But when Sherlock returns, he believes so does his arch enemy, Moriarty. A mysterious young girl shows up who Watson falls I love with, named Bella Spellgrove, leaves Sherlock trying to find out what she is hiding.
This musical is full of mystery and is great for a school performance in the summer. This musical is very close to my heart, being a big Sherlock Holmes fan, I love the story. The songs are good fun to dance along to, and are really fun to sing. My favourite song is Vendetta, which is sung by Bella Spellgrove and Mrs Moriarty. If you are looking for something that challenges your theatre group, this is the musical for you.

Some of the music is reasonable, but as a show, it lacks a great deal.  It lacks audience appeal and is far too long to make it an enjoyable experience to watch.
