Hello, Out There reveals the adventure of Photo Finish, an itinerant gambler, who is arrested and jailed in a small Texas town and charged with rape. The charge is a lie, but the only one who hears Photo's call for justice and understanding is Emily, a young girl who cooks for the prisoners. Photo gives all his money to Emily before a mob breaks into the jail and the lying woman's husband shoots him.
Hello, Out There premiered on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre in September 1942 under the direction of Eddie Dowling.
