Christmas/Holiday

A Christmas Carol meets The Government Inspector meets Noises Off in this hilarious hit from Seattle. A man who asks to audition at a small theatre is mistaken for an informer for the National Endowment for the Arts. Everyone caters to the bewildered wannabe actor and he is given a role in the current production, A Christmas Carol. Everything goes wrong and hilarity is piled upon hilarity. Perfect anytime, this delight is particularly appropriate at Christmas.

My main group did this show nine years ago, and it was wonderful.  A theater group on the brink of financial disaster, its funding by the NEA at risk, mistakes a wannabe actor (who is terrible) for the NEA evaluator.  Their previously stale and bedraggled "Christmas Carol" turns into a complete disaster.  Full of theater inside humor, but completely accessible by a general public who, like the actors, likely dreads the thought of the usual holiday treacle.
