Joe Flynn (McHale's Navy) originated the play in L.A. Don Knotts wowed the Midwest in a long, Chicago run. Mickey Rooney played the lead in Toronto. Ed Wynn, Jr. even starred in Mind in Australia.
 
In the original version, a young man who became rich in Hollywood decides to open a porn movie house in the small, conservative town where he grew up. His father is part of the Town Council. In the new version, he decides to open "the Pleasure Palace" a virtual reality emporium with private booths, where every joy of sex can be enjoyed in private by wearing a Virtual Reality visor. The Town Council, a blue-nose committee, must, according to a judge prove that this V.R. experience is obscene. They try a taste of V.R., resulting in an unforgettable comedy romp.
