THE GLORIOUS ONES premiered at the Pittsburgh Public Theater from April 27 to May 20, 2007. THE GLORIOUS ONES opened Off-Broadway at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. A production of the Lincoln Center Theatre, it ran October 11, 2007 through January 6, 2008. Directed and choreographed by Graciella Danielle, the production was nominated for 5 Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical, Best Music and Best Lyrics. The New York cast featured Marc Kudisch, Erin Davie, Natalie Venetia Belcon, and David Patrick Kelly.
Characters
ARMANDA RAGUSA An endearingly innocent dwarf who plays comic roles. Unrequitedly in love with Flaminio and jealous of the attention Isabella and Columbina receive from him. Protective of Flaminio and his legacy. Female, 25-45 yrs old Range: F3 - D5

COLUMBINA Voluptuous, comic and passionate. The mistress of Flaminio. Loves her husband, but longs for him to love her the way he did when they first met. Ultimately embraces the change in theatre and her aging position in it. Female, 35-45 yrs old Range: E3 - D5

DOTTORE GRAZIANO A failed elixir salesman who now plays the pompous, quack of a doctor. Frequently speaks in Latin to sound smart. Excellent pantomime. Male, 45-55 yrs old Range: A3 - G5

FLAMINIO SCALA The charismatic, larger-than-life leader of the troupe. A proud and groundbreaking theatre artist whose first love is the stage. Hardheaded and unable to change with the times. Male, 40-50 yrs old Range: A3 - F5

FRANCESCO ANDREINI Handsome, charismatic, and ambitious. The quintessential leading man, who is married to Isabella. Attempts to promote the progressive art-form in theatre. Male, 20-30 yrs old Range: G3 - E5

ISABELLA ANDREINI Beautiful, ethereal, and rebellious of her parents' high-society life. Writes plays and has great comedic talents. The wife of Francesco. Female, 18-25 yrs old Range: G3 - D6

PANTALONE An old miser with a broken heart and former tailor who was plucked from his shop and promised the love of many women by Flaminio. Plays misers and old fathers in their troupe's plays. Male, 60-75 yrs old Range: A3 - E5
