This play has drama, humor, suspense, good guys, bad guys, damsels in distress -- in short, it has it all! I love the time period (dare I say, a more innocent time?) and an exciting time in our nation's history when the country was still emerging and growing. It expresses hope and a bright future, in spite of (because of?) the many changes and the expansion our country was going through. It is perfect for my students and our One Act Play competition because it teaches history and still addresses issues relevant to today.
