Theatrical, funny, and touching. It's another long night for Jamie, with an obnoxious sister and a trio of sardonic puppets to keep her awake. Tinged with fun and sisterly nostalgia, the merriment comes inevitably to focus on the cause of Jamie's self destruction, and the loss that has brought her to the edge. Published in KickAss Plays For Women.
The Last Nickel premiered at One Dream Theatre in New York City in December of 1996. It was directed by Julie Hamberg.

Amazing script that provided super opportunities for my students to work with puppets on a level that was exciting to watch. The main characters, Jo and Jamie, forced young actors to become more than just scene partners but very sister-like. Both actors received Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the West Virginia Association Festival and overall placing 1st in the West Virginia Theatre Association and moving on to SETC helps to.
