Summary
Requires an elaborate, resourceful and imaginative production. There has been nothing like it in our theatre in several generations. Experimental theatre groups will welcome the wonderful production possibilities this play suggests in scenery, lighting, music, dance and costuming. Production suggestions available on request. The enigmatic plot of this play defies analysis, since its scenes weave from reality into the dreams and hopes of the characters. After waiting five years for his fiancee, a young man is jilted on the eve of his wedding. During the wasted five years, a childhood sweetheart has remained in love with the young man. Both now try to regain the lost years. Whether they do or not depends on the audience's interpretation. No one has used the versatile resources of the theatre more brilliantly than Lorca in this strange comedy.
