A boy and a girl are awakened from their sleep by an ugly fairy or so it seems. Actually, she's a beautiful fairy, who appears ugly by our wrong way of looking at things. She introduces the children to the wonderful world of fantasy, and sends them on their way in search of the blue bird, "of the dreams that live on the rays of the moon," in the company of a Dantesque Vergil, Light. In this new world they see their deceased grandparents. They also meet Night, with hidden miseries and afflictions. They also meet the joys and luxuries of life, pass through the halls of happiness and see the kingdom of the future babies awaiting birth. They return full circle to their homes and beds. The staging is on the fantastic order of Strindberg's The Dream Play. A play of world-wide fame.
