This Play is About Pirates was part of the nationally recognized Educational Theatre Association's Thespian Playworks competition in 2014. Published in the collection of Thespian Playworks 2014


Jim tells the audience his story of how he came to be a nasty pirate. Through a series of events we see various interactions between his past and present self, contemplating what could have been. 

JIM – A pirate; three years older than James

JAMES – A memory; three years younger than

Mary – His lover

MAD PETE – Her father, a pirate

WIDOWIN’ WALLACE – A pirate, a lover, a pain

PAT – A pirate with a limited vocabulary

SULLY – A pirate with limited patience
