As with all novels condensed to one-act plays, it is hard to capture the core of a story. This adaptation of 'Dorian Gray' manages to hint at the larger picture of Wilde's novel, but the script will need ample assistance from lighting and sound to really showcase the horror story Dorian's life becomes.
Also worth noting, the character of Basil, who paints Dorian's ill-fated portrait is here written as a female character. I believe this to be a mistake.
All that said, it is a well written piece, that certainly has potential to effectively present Dorian Gray's story in forty minutes or so.
