This play has been performed since 1936 at the Vicksburg Theatre Guild in Vicksburg, Mississippi. With 12-15 performances per year, and different cast members almost every night, it is a different show every night. Cast members grow from the child parts up to the adults parts. Sometimes there are three generations onstage at the same time. It offers an outlet for all types of talent: singers, dancers, and actors.
"Gold" is a basic good-versus-evil melodrama, with no shades of grey. The villain is all bad; the hero is all good. It is delightful entertainment for the whole family!
