One of the funniest comedies ever written by the master of comedy. Danny Simon taught his brother Neil how to write, The great Woody Allen was also a student of Danny, He has said "I've added a few things to his principles, and added a dimension to what he always taught me, but everything unequivocally that I know about comedy writing, I learned from Danny Simon. And he's a nice man, too." This play is so funny because it's so damn honest . I studied comedy writing with Danny Simon for five years. Everything I write embraces his principles and everything in this very funny comedy uses those principles. Here the terms "Deal With It" and "Guilding the Lily: come to full fruition. You know these characters. They're fully dimensional and real. Writers today must get into the heads of their characters because that is how you make that character as funny as he or she can possibly be. You believe this girl. You believe this guy. You believe it as if it just happened to you, Danny was the original Felix Unger. It was his story and situation that his famous brother adapted.. Danny worked side by side in a writer's room with some of the funniest comedians on the face on the Earth, including Mel Brooks, Larry Gelbart, Carl Reiner and Howard Morris, , He was the head writer of the Danny Thomas show "Make Room For Daddy.' and many other classic television shows. I laughed till I cried reading this amazing play. It's so honest, George Washington could have played the lead. Danny Simon will always be my hero!
