A folktale from the Ashanti People of Ghana – West Africa. One of six globe-trotting one-acts for ages 8-18, with flex-gendered roles and cultural insights into the timeless and universal lessons of international storytelling. Includes cultural/historical production notes and a glossary or foreign words. Published in All the World’s a Stage, Volume 3.
All of the multicultural plays in each of the three volumes of All the World’s a Stage
were first performed by MetaStages, a youth theatre outreach program at
Penn State University. The plays were developed from folktales by
MetaStages founder and director, Joann Rose Leonard.
