“Blissfully funny. A treat worth taking a chance on.” – The Columbus Dispatch

REVIEWS

“Highly recommended as the surprise standout of the year for all ages.” – Broadway World

“At an hour long, Super Sidekick is a quick moving, no frills adventure kids are sure to enjoy.  And for the big people that brought them, there are well-rounded performances, a couple of solid gags, and expertly crafted lyrics to keep their interest peaked, too... Gregory Crafts' book is funny and clear, providing a good foundation for Michael Gordon Shapiro's brilliant lyrics, which get more impressive the closer one listens.” – NYTheatre.com

“Perfect for small children, with audience participation, a perfect hour run-time and catchy musical numbers.” – L.A. Theatre Review

Critics' Pick! – New York Magazine

“The team behind Super Sidekick:The Musical have perfected the art of live-action cartoon... even as a grown-up I found it humorous, saucy, and a lot of fun!” – The Happiest Medium

“Not only is the story delightful but the lyrics are too... When I went, the audience was filled with grown-ups who acted like kids in their total enjoyment of the piece and the actual kids that were there had an even better time.” – Hi! Drama

FROM ARTISTIC DIRECTORS

“What we really loved about this show is that the sidekick is the hero in the end. It tells a story of friendship, loyalty, being brave and facing your fears. It also has action, adventure, hilarious moments and touching moments. The music is beautifully written and adds the perfect touch to the script itself. We just couldn’t pass this one up. Plus, there are ninja koalas! Who can say no to that?” – Bethany Dunham, Education Director, Topeka Civic Theatre

“Our schools are always demanding a musical option for the tour, and it's hard to find one that is age-appropriate, time-appropriate, AND artistically excellent. Needless to say, I was incredibly pleased when I found Super Sidekick.” – Aimee S. Reid, Artistic Director of the Treehouse Troupe

“I was first drawn to Super Sidekick:The Musical because the show could be done with minimal set and flexible casting. When you are working on a small budget and with teens who fluctuate in regards to their involvement, having a show that was flexible was very important. But after reading a sample of the show, I loved the heartwarming story, how it made me laugh and all the nerdy inside jokes. I knew the teens would love the score and they literally would be sing the songs one their lunch break and before and after rehearsal. They couldn't get enough of the songs and they really resonated with the heart of the show.” – Larisse Campbell, Artistic Director of the Eastside Story Guild Youth Program
