Overview
Times are bleak for Joe Duffy and the Hartwell Theatre Company in this politically incorrect backstaqe comedy. Deemed too "middle of the road" by the new agenda-loving Commissioner For The Arts, they have lost their state funding. With the monies being delegated to fringe and minority-related theater groups, Joe decides to take the company in a "bold, new direction." He decides to champion the works of new - in his opinion - "minority" voice in American theater...the straight, white male! Boys at Play portrays, with tongue-in-cheek, the desperate measures one man will take to pursue his artistic dreams.
