(Formerly titled "Rainy Days and Mondays")

Andrew Barrett

Full Length, Comedy

4m.

Various Settings/Unit Set

Circuitry is an outrageously funny, unapologetic ninety-minute play that takes us on a year long whirlwind global trip through the exclusive world of the Circuit Party. It is part realism and part absurdism and totally fabulous as it follows one gay New Yorker’s quest for love through this seductive world in 1996. As HIV/AIDS remains a major part of the gay community worldwide, Circuitry takes a glimpse backwards to question the state of a large group of gay men today.

"This bittersweet story of the mid-'90s circuit-party scene, which follows three young gay men as they initially indulge their senses but eventually deal with reality, is engrossing and compelling." – Backstage

"Something intelligent, "Rainy Days and Mondays," is a drama from emerging scribe Andrew Barrett. With graphic detail, the play confronts unpleasant truths about the drug-addled world of gay circuit parties." –Variety.

"Much to my astonishment, the mirror proffered by this buoyant drama soon begins to crack, challenging us to consider much more. The startlingly insightful “Rainy Days & Mondays” is about celebrating life, sharing love, the magic of music, and, of course, the limits of hedonism." – Gay City News

"It is thought-provoking and shakes you up a bit - and I don’t mean the dance music heard before the show and during and between scenes. The forecast for Rainy Days & Mondays should be pretty bright." – Edge Publications
