Bill and Laura are a married couple recently separated. By accident, they both show up at the same dinner party with dates. They come face to face in the bedroom where all the coats are being stored. They immediately begin fighting. They leave to go to the party, but soon return to the bedroom looking for their coats, which are now buried. The fight gets even more heated as they criticize each other's dates and each other's lives as single people. The more they fight the more we realize that their lives apart have been miserable. They end up in each other's arms as they lock the door, throw the coats off the bed and get under the covers to make love.
