The puritanical Basil is shocked when an unmarried couple requests a double room and he puts all manner of obstacles in their path. Sybil is more obliging but when the girl's parents arrive, who also happen to be good friends with Polly, and Basil is found in several innocent but seemingly compromising positions, the day is set for a series of misunderstandings, not helped by the delicious French lady guest with designs on Basil!
