This stage biography of gifted short story writer Katherine Mansfield is set in the tuberculosis sanitarium where she went with her devoted companion, Ida Baker, to regain her health over the winter of 1920 1921. The play focuses on the relationship between these two ladies and on this important literary figure's sensibilities as a writer and a woman while revealing harsh truths about her marriage to a writer and critic who treated her with selfish insensitivity.
