Chazz Palminteri

1m.

Chazz Palminteri's slice-of-life coming of age story, set in New York's The Bronx during the 1960s. One actor playing multiple roles depicts a young boy's rough childhood in 1960s-era Bronx and the unforgettable people he encountered. Young Calogero admires his devoted and hard-working father, Lorenzo, but when he strikes up a friendship with the dangerous but lovable local crime boss, Sonny, he's introduced to a whole new set of aspirations. Caught between the influences of two vastly different father figures, in a turbulent neighborhood on the brink of social change, "C" is forced to make difficult choices about friendship, love and family—choices that can change his life forever.

A Bronx Tale premiered off-Broadway in 1989. A feature film version, with a screenplay by Palminteri and directed by Robert De Niro, was released in 1993.
