Tom Frye is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association and has performed throughout the United States. He has his BA and MA in Theatre from Wichita State University. Credited with a wide variety of achievements, Mr. Frye's theatrical career on and off stage spans decades. Some of his early work in theatre include teaching high school at Wichita Southeast High School for 14 years where he built the largest drama program in the state. He also taught acting at Wichita State University for 8 years. He served as guest director at three other area high schools and two community theatres. During these early years, Mr. Frye created a unique comic night club group, The Small Frye Company. This troupe was active throughout the Midwest for more than ten years with Mr. Frye serving as manager, performer and comic writer. In 2001, he was inducted into the MJT Hall of Fame, recognizing thespians in the area with over 25 years of contributions to theatre. His has written 30 scripts for Mosley Street Melodramas over the past 15 years. Locally he has received 8 producing awards, 9 acting awards and 2 directing awads. His melodrama scripts and actors have won over 50 awards. His plays, compiled as the Mosley Street Melodramas, are published by Samuel French. He will be performing this summer at Tent Theatre in Springfield, Missouri in "Hairspray."
