Billy Van Zandt - after starring in a series of his own plays (If you've never seen this clown at work, you should be ashamed of yourself - Asbury Park Press), Billy made his feature film debut in Jaws 2. The success of his comedies (written with partner Jane Milmore) brought him to the attention of Bob Newhart, who hired him as a writer for the acclaimed Newhart television series. A career lasting three decades of producing and writing for television ensued.Billy is best known for Off-Broadway's The Manopause Boys, You've Got Hate Mail, Silent Laughter, Drop Dead! and The Property Known as Garland (starring Adrienne Barbeau). His biggest career thrill was acting alongside his idol Lucille Ball on her final television series. A year after Lucy’s passing, Billy and Jane were nominated for an Emmy for writing and producing a television special where they unveiled the original pilot episode of I Love Lucy. They won both People's Choice and NAACP Image Awards for their work on the Martin Lawrence comedy Martin and a Prism Multi-Cultural Award for TV's The Hughleys. Billy lives in New Jersey and California.
