Kris Bauske was born in rural Southwest Michigan and is a graduate of the University of Michigan. A tomboy with a deep love of books and plays, her first play, A Good Old Fashioned, Redneck Country Christmas, written in 2008, garnered national attention, and has now been adapted for the stage as a musical, and is being considered for cinematic production. Both the play and the musical are published by Samuel French, as is the sequel, A Good Old Fashioned Redneck Country Wedding. Kris' professional work is represented by Gary DaSilva of Manhattan Beach, CA.
Ms. Bauske is a proud member of the Dramatist’s Guild of America, the International Centre for Women Playwrights (ICWP), where she has been co-chair for the 50/50 Applause Award since 2014, and the Theatre Communications Group. She was nominated for the 2011, 2013, & 2015 Francesca Primus award presented by the ATCA for Outstanding Emerging Female Playwright. Her work is also published by Stagescripts, Ltd of London. She continues to write from her home near Orlando, FL.
