Additional Info

A play by the author of the very successful EVERY FAMILY HAS ONE. Linda, daughter of a socially pretentious mother, is set to marry Ernest, the mama's boy of a supposedly wealthy mother. Linda's ex-fiance, a reporter, turns up and sets his mind to breaking up this match. The wealthy Aunt of the family—they've not seen her for many years—turns up and is mistaken by the flighty mother for the new maid; she is put to work. A crook, posing as a society reporter, enters the house with his niece; he is after some valuable letters known to him to be concealed behind a family painting. The reporter disguises himself as the Aunt from Boston; he disrupts the plans for the wedding and partially exposes some of the phony guests. Linda realizes she really loves the reporter. Together with her new fiance, they dispose of the possessive mother of Ernest and enable him to marry the niece of the crook, who has reformed and has made a match with the wealthy Aunt who has been mistaken for the new maid. An excellent play for high schools.
