Summary
Marlowe's play assimilated by Brecht, and without the sensuousness of the Renaissance artist. Though not as eloquent, Brecht's Edward II is his best go at Heroic Tragedy, somewhat unique for Brecht. In this case Edward's heroism belongs to the category of the traditionally tragic, not utilitarian, but demonstrative man.
