Summary
Produced at the Cort Theater, Chicago, and at the Biltmore Theater, New York. The Barton family, consisting of Willie, an ambitious young chap who yearns to be a film director, his married sister, Helen, ambitious to become a movie star, and their mother, the patient, carry on most of the action. Helen's husband, who has sold a grocery store in Newark with the intention of buying a nut farm in California, is more or less the motor of the plot, for it is his money that enables Helen to get a chance to be a star. Poor Hubby Robert! By the time a slick film producer, a scenario writer, a bored leading man, his own wife and brother-in-law, get through with that thirty thousand, all Bob has left is a memory. Fortunately Willie saves the day and the money by a bit of movie magic and everything ends happily. Highly recommended for amateur production by high schools, churches and clubs.
