HUBERT - about 60, a spare old man, small, brisk, precise, with a trot for a gait. He never lounges, is always purposeful.
LAURETTE - nearly 60, an old lady who chirps and twitters, with a habit of making little noises while people are talking about her.
MERCEDES (MERCY) - 15, the brainy type, serious, not smart in her appearance. Her hair is an unkempt mop that started out to be a square bob.
VIDA - about 40, wiry, and spare. Stringy blonde hair. Swinging gait.
JENNIFER - 18, very pretty girl, lively and bright.
ELIZABETH - 36, pretty and very feminine.
IRENE - 36, smart, dressed in high fashion; heavily made-up, compared to Elizabeth. Appears both younger and harder.
HARRIET - large and ample female with a deep voice and a habit of standing as if she were making a speech.
RALPH - husky and masculine.
ANDY - 33, attractive, lazy, amused.
