A beautiful woman, talking on the phone to her lover, is intruded upon by a man who claims to be the gas man. In fact, he has recently murdered someone on her front door step. She is intrigued by him, and a fascinating contest of wills develops, which is added to when her husband shows up. We find out only at the last minute who was the real victim.
