The Sap is William Small, who's living with (and on) his wife's relatives in a small town, and blessed with an imagination and a dislike for work. Just then, his brother-in-law and the cashier of the bank in which he works becomes involved in a money shortage at the bank, and Bill, the sap, comes to the rescue.
