Summary

Skin was part of the nationally recognized Educational Theatre Association's Thespian Playworks competition in 2014. Published in the collection of Thespian Playworks 2014.

From the sea-battered cliffs of Irish legend comes this reimagined selkie fable, about an isolated young man whose mythical encounter challenges his ideas of fate in otherness. A poignant analysis of what it truly means to love something you don’t understand.

FINIAN – 17, a fisherman. Adventurous.
MUIRIN – A selkie, older than Finian. Doubtful.
CAITLIN – Late 40s, mother of Finian. Manic.
BRADEN – A selkie, same age as Muirin. Happy but distant.
  • Setting Dalkey, Ireland. An old little house set next to a small, rocky shore.
