Summary
What happens to the little church of which Peter is pastor might happen to anyone's church. On the day before Easter, the Board of Trustees has voted to close the church because of the lack of finances and a general spirit of apathy on the part of the congregation. The future looks dark indeed. Under the prayerful guidance of old Grandmother Watkins, the practical faith of Janitor Ollie, and the sweetness of Martha, Peter's wife, not only is the church reborn, but a great reawakening comes to the community. The play's appeal is to all denominations wherever the need for a quickening of personal responsibility toward God and the church is the crying need of the community
