Summary
The play begins in the present, with a dinner celebration between Juliet and her daughter, Adeline, who, days before her college graduation, has recently landed her first real-world job. Moving through both past and present, the play reveals Adeline's childhood, including the sudden disappearance of her father, Jerry. By exploring the repercussions of his absence on the events and relationships in Adeline's life, she is forced to decide who truly matters and who is truly needed.
