Summary

Cheets, the irrepressible elf, saves Emma and the enchanted forest from certain destruction! Lord Hazard has employed Patsy, the Banana Spider, to keep Emma ensnared in her web while Hazard sells the forest to developers. Given his reputation for mischief, no one believes Cheets when he claims that he has found Emma because no one but Cheets can see her. Audience participation is encouraged, especially when Emma plays charades with Cheets to make herself understood. A stand alone sequel to Emma and the Lost Unicorn, new characters are introduced; Thomas, a sea turtle, nautical to his toes; greedy Patsy, the spider, means well but cannot resist the tasty bugs supplied to her by Hazard. Rose and Lord Hazard, century old lovers, reunite. This fable contains greed, ecology, friendship, enduring love and justice.

The fourth in this series, "Bertie, the Bookworm and the Bully Boys."

CHEETS - a mischievous elf; is never still or quiet; jumps, runs, hops, skips around the stage; has bigger ears and feet than Donald and the other faeries; can be played by a girl
THOMAS - a large sea turtle; plodding, slow in his movements and speech; speaks only in nautical expressions
STARE - the rhetorical owl
PATSY - the spider; pump and complacent, wants to be good but just can’t resist a free meal; knits her web with gossamer yarn throughout the story
EMMA - an earthling girl; the Queen’s favorite
DONALD - the good and kind faerie; in puppy love with Emma
ROSE - Emma’s mother
MAX - the family dog, a Golden Retriever, red in color
CLEO - Queen of the faeries; reigns over the enchanted forest and cares for the all the faeries, elves, and woodland creatures
SCARLET, YELLOW, ORANGE, BLUE, PURPLE, GREEN - young handmaidens to the Queen; dressed in their respective colors: long flowing gowns, reminiscent of Medieval times; hands, feet, hair, faces and wings are the same color as their gowns and their names
HAZARD - King of the Underworld, the arch enemy of all that is good; plans to sell the forest to developers
HENCHMAN #1,2,3 - soldiers of Hazard; double cast as the land developers
GUTTER - one of Hazard’s henchman
VARIOUS FAERIES AND SMALL CREATURES OF THE FOREST - rabbits, skunks, squirrels

The Fabled Forest series was written so that no child who has auditioned is turned away. The cast is very flexible.
