In this poignant and sensitive analysis of sexual confusion, Bob Carter returns home to a college town during World War II with a dishonorable discharge. He was a passive participant in a homosexual act and is too ashamed to let anyone know. His sister has just reconsidered having an affair with Greg, a bi sexual soldier, so the frustrated Greg and Bob spend the night together. This second homosexual encounter leaves Bob confused and frightened with no one to turn to.
