The Clod

Overview

One evening in 1863 in the kitchen of a farmhouse on the border between the Northern and Southern states, Mary is confronted with the greatest experience of her life. A Northern soldier, hunted by two Southern soldiers, seeks refuge in her household. The two Southern officers insult Mary to the point of murder. She endures many moments of horror and then turns on the two men. She takes the old gun from the wall and kills them both. An exciting play with well defined characters.
