Overview

Jim Jones, a high minded preacher establishes the Peoples Temple and becomes drunk with power, dominating his followers religion, philosophy, even their sex lives. He leads his cult to Guyana. Pursued by the government he conducts the famous massacre, poisoning his entire flock. A fascinating and tragic study of power and how easily it can corrupt. The play builds skillfully to a shattering climax.
