Overview

From EYES ON THE CROSS: Taking place during the crucifixion, the playlets that comprise Eyes Upon the Cross catch characters in the life of Jesus at this time: Mary the Mother, the Centurian, Judas, Barabbas, Simon, Peter, and Mary Magdalene. Each playlet reflects a sentence spoken by Jesus on the cross and is complete in itself, or more can be combined for a fuller drama. We never see the cross or Jesus, but both are a vivid part of the play. The somber theme is lightened by flashes of humor. Audience members may ask themselves, "What would I do in these circumstances?" The crucifixion becomes real and relevant.
