Love's Tangled Web

Overview

Love and intrigue on Long Island's fashionable North Shore, full of the author's characteristically strange people and social observations. Among the players are a snarky, crippled heiress, who employs her own mother and brother as her maid and butler; a philandering clergyman, who is also the cruel despot of a local boys' orphanage, and the voodoo-practicing attractive daughter of a clam digger. The plot offers such farcical staples as romantic rivalries, mistaken identities, purloined letters and financial extortion, but, to be sure, Mr. Ludlam has added some other twists that are purely his own.
