Overview

Suspense, murder and crackling humor. It combines all the elements necessary for an auspicious production: action, gun play, intrigue and a touch of the supernatural in a picturesque setting-a long-deserted stagecoach station on the Arizona-Mexican border. It was once the scene of a violent Indian Massacre, and ever since that day it has the reputation of being haunted. But during a wild sandstorm a busload of tourists seek shelter there, not knowing of its evil history. It seems every night at midnight, a haunted stagecoach gallops by, and whoever looks upon it, dies. Two men do look and die during the course of the play; but courageous Matt Walters (the likeable lead) proves in the end that there is a good logical explanation for everything. The play abounds in colorful and amusing characters: among them are Cleo Patra, a hard-boiled showgirl; Petunia Potter, an old maid; Septimus Jepson, a dry-as dust professor; Pocanti, and Indian Maiden; Lolita, a Mexican cow-girl, and Old Bones, an old-time Prospector.
