Overview
In this longer one act, Dolly Casey, age 12, is desperate to convince her uncle Jimmy to take her and her sister Winny in so they won't have to go to foster care and be separated. Their troubled alcoholic mother, Jimmy's sister Nell, has run off again, and they don't know who their father is. But Jimmy has been deeply scarred by his frustrated love for the doomed Jessie Armitage, and is unwilling to make further emotional commitments. Jessie Armitage and her brother John Rose, the central figures in other Nigro plays, also appear in this powerful and moving tale of loss and redemption.
