Overview

Think of the long list of popular school comedies by these authors: And Came the Spring, Come Rain or Shine, Life of the Party, Quiet Summer, Come Over to Our House, Change of Heart, Too Many Dates, Turn Back the Clock. Well, this time the authors turn their comic spotlight on the Perry family during the week of Linda Perry's marriage to Gordon Gavin - if that day ever comes. Doubts arise when young Dandy Perry, Linda's rambunctious and loveable sixteen year old sister, gets it into her head that poor Gordon doesn't really love Linda. In fact - she gets the idea - which the audience knows is a mistake - that Gordon loves wise-cracking Claudia, Linda's best friend and the bridesmaid. And believe it or not, the reason for Dandy's confusion can be traced back to Linda herself! Then situations begin to explode! And if you know the other plays by these authors, you have some idea as to the comic swiftness with which trouble mounts - into a hilarious climax that, complicated by the four parents and Gordon's boy friends, threatens the marriage itself. In the end, of course, after an evening of sheer merriment, everything is settled properly; and Dandy, a chastened young lady on the threshold of maturity, realizes exactly what she has done, and why. There are romances galore, too-funny ones and touching ones, and above all believable and human ones. As usual, the authors have something to say behind all the fun. As a hilarious study of youth, we recommend June Wedding
