Overview

A new Broadway play is about salesmanship from the author of Lampost Reunion. One of America's greatest salesmen, Chester Grant, is almost 65 years old and facing mandatory retirement from the huge corporate structure he created. He feels this to be the beginning of the end of his life and is fighting his board of directors for a way to remain active. Our story takes place the night he invites his partner and the company's two best young salesmen to his home. Grant tells them and his family how one of the young men might be taking his place if he approves. The young hotshots, realizing what's at stake, start positioning for the job - but his family and partner are opposed to his new way of prolonging his own longevity on the job. The night leads to many bitter confrontations through some of the most powerful drama written in recent years.
